Gen X where are you? Here is another reminder that we are now the “old people”. Apparently “Captain America star “Anthony Mackey went on the Jimmy Fallon show last month wearing the infamous “Gordon Gartrell” shirt, and Gen Z is still currently roasting TF out of him for such “poor fashion choices” 😂😂😂😂😂 When I tell you this took me out and took me back to when times were much simpler and wholesome. Incase you weren’t allowed to watch tv in the 80’s or you and your parents weren’t born yet 😂 this shirt is a HUGE part of the culture.
I’ll explain…. This shirt debuted in season 1 of “The Cosby Show”. In the episode, Denise, played by Lisa Bonet, sewed her brother Theo (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) a shirt to replicate a pricey designer top he was forced to return. However, it wasn’t the exact replica Theo hoped for, making for a hilarious scene in the 1980s sitcom.
But seeing it get roasted made it even funnier for me, as this was literally one of my favorite episodes 💙
Does this shirt bring back memories for you? It does for me.. but unfortunately it’s clouded by thoughts of Bill Cosby giving out quaaludes 😂😂😂😂
